Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FriendlyMiles Digital Ventures LLC ("FriendlyMiles Digital Ventures," "we," "us," or "our"), which operates MemoryDock, handles information when you use our personal memory assistant.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, account identifiers, authentication records, profile details, settings, and security or audit events.
- Content you provide: memories and their titles, body text, summaries, transcripts, source, category, workspace, sensitivity level, tags, lock status (
is_locked), favorite or archive status, related metadata, and timestamps. - Purchase information: Apple transaction and product identifiers and subscription or entitlement status needed to provide paid access. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
- Product and device information: limited app usage events, technical diagnostics, device or browser details, and approximate network information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
- Communications: information you send when contacting support, privacy, security, or general contact addresses.
Voice and microphone use
On supported iPhones in the MemoryDock iOS app, spoken input is primarily converted to text using Apple’s speech-recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). The English interface maps speech recognition to en-US, and the French interface maps it to fr-FR. MemoryDock does not intentionally save raw microphone audio as a permanent MemoryDock memory item.
Optional cloud AI (off by default): In Settings you may enable (1) cloud category refinement and/or (2) cloud transcription fallback. When category refinement is on, note text may be sent to MemoryDock’s secure servers and then to Groq to refine a category suggestion. When transcription fallback is on and Apple speech recognition fails or returns no usable transcript, temporary audio may be sent to MemoryDock’s secure servers and then to Groq Whisper for a transcript; MemoryDock does not keep that audio as a permanent archive as part of this processing path. You can turn these options off at any time. Personalized category learning remains on-device only and is not synced to the cloud.
The transcript text you review and save may be stored as your memory and processed for categorization and search under this policy. Microphone and speech-recognition permissions are controlled in iOS Settings. Availability and exact processing paths depend on device capabilities, permissions, Apple’s speech features, and your cloud-AI choices; we do not claim that all processing always stays fully on-device when optional cloud AI is enabled.
Lock Memory
You may mark individual memories as locked. On iPhone, viewing or unlocking uses Apple device-owner authentication: Face ID or Touch ID where supported, with Apple-managed device passcode fallback. MemoryDock does not store biometric templates. Apple performs authentication, and the app receives only a success or failure result.
Locked previews are suppressed in MemoryDock lists and search. Web v1 does not reveal locked-memory contents because web unlock is not implemented. Lock Memory is user-interface access control, not end-to-end encryption. Locked content continues to follow MemoryDock’s existing Supabase backend and storage architecture; it is not represented as unreadable to the server.
How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts; store, organize, categorize, search, retrieve, export, and delete memories; apply lock controls; provide and verify paid access; provide support and transactional account messages; understand feature use; troubleshoot problems; prevent abuse; and comply with law.
Service providers
We use vendors acting on our behalf, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and related backend infrastructure.
- Apple for iOS speech features, device-owner authentication, and In-App Purchase processing.
- RevenueCat as infrastructure for subscription and entitlement status management.
- Resend and/or the configured authentication email provider for sign-in, confirmation, recovery, and other transactional email.
- PostHog for limited product analytics. Memory titles, memory contents, voice transcripts, search terms, passwords, and exported records are not intentionally included in analytics events.
- Hosting, security, and technical providers needed to deliver MemoryDock.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account information and saved memories while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate and secure the service. You can delete individual memories in the app. To delete your account, open Settings → Delete Account, then use the confirmation dialog with Cancel or Delete Account. Opening the dialog, choosing Cancel, pressing Escape, or dismissing via the backdrop does not delete anything. Confirming Delete Account permanently removes active and archived memories, account audit records, settings, profile, and the Supabase Auth sign-in account, then signs you out. Export anything you want to keep first.
If the in-app process fails or you cannot access your account, contact privacy@memorydockapp.com or support@memorydockapp.com. Limited records may be retained when legally required, necessary to resolve disputes or enforce agreements, or present temporarily in protected backups until their normal rotation.
Your choices and rights
You can access and edit saved content, export memories to user-selected device destinations, delete individual memories, change app settings, control microphone and speech-recognition permissions in iOS Settings, manage Apple subscriptions in Apple ID settings or App Store subscriptions, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity.
Security and sensitive content
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Do not store complete passwords, full payment-card numbers, CVVs, Social Security numbers, bank credentials, or recovery codes. MemoryDock is not represented as HIPAA-compliant and should not be used where a regulated compliance commitment is required.
Children and international use
MemoryDock is not designed for individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Information may be processed where FriendlyMiles Digital Ventures LLC and its providers operate, which may be outside your jurisdiction and subject to different laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the revised version here, change the "Last updated" date, and provide additional notice when required.
